WHAT IS PADEL?
Padel is the combination of squash and tennis that is ideally played in teams of two. The game is played with Padel rackets that have a short handle in comparison with tennis rackets.
The game starts with a serve from one player who has to stand with both of his feet outside the line. As per Padel rules, the ball should hit anywhere inside the diagonal box first. After bouncing on the floor, within the box, it can hit the glass but can not hit the fence as it is a foul.
One important rule is that the ball must hit the floor first before it goes toward the players or touches the glass wall. In Padel, you can also hit the ball on your own side of the glass but not on the fence.

THE PADEL COURT
Get a full court just for your friends and family and play for as long as you want without anyone interrupting you.
A Padel court is 20 meters long and 10 meters wide with the back walls being made of glass up to a height of 3 meters, whereas the glas side walls end after 4 meters. The walls can be made of glass or another solid, even material like concrete. The rest of the court is closed using a metallic mesh to a height of 4 meters.
At the middle of the playing field there is a net dividing the court in two. It has a maximum height of 88 cm in the center, raising to 92 cm at both sides. These fields are than divided in the middle by a line and another line three meters from the back wall marks the service area.

PADEL RACKET & BALL
The game is quick and easy to learn, making it a fun and addictive sport to play. Using a short, stringless padel racket with an elastic surface with holes and a low compression tennis ball, the service is made underarm.
Shots are played either before or after the ball bounces off the surrounding glass walls, adding a unique dimension to the sport over conventional tennis.
The scoring and rules are very similar to Tennis, with the biggest difference being that the serve in Padel is underarm and that balls can be played off the glass walls in a similar way as in Squash. The rules allow for the use of the back and sidewalls, which results in longer rallies than in a conventional tennis match.
Points are won rather by strategy than by strength and power.

PADEL RULES & HOW TO PLAY
Have you ever seen people playing padel tennis and wondered what the fuss was all about? It’s a racket sport similar to tennis but played on a smaller court with walls. It’s a fast-paced game perfect for beginners.
Here are a few basic rules of padel for beginners
SCORING
Points: Points: 15-30-40-Game
Game: Four points make up a game. When both players are tied on 40, the player with the two points advantage is the winner.
Set: A player wins a set after winning six games with a minimum 2 point lead.
Match: To win a match, a player or team must win two out of three sets.
Deuce: Once tied 40-40, the match must be won by a player/team winning two consecutive points. *Golden Point: New rule (see FAQ)
Tie-break: If the score is 6-6, whoever wins the tie-break is the winner. The tie-break game lasts until one side has 7 points or more and is at least two points ahead of the other.

SERVING
The first point of the match is always played from the right side of the court. The server switches sides after every point until the game is over.
Players serve for the entire game, while receivers change after every point.
The player must serve underhand and below the waist. There are two chances for a successful serve.
Servers must stand behind the service line, while receivers can stand wherever they like.
A service must land diagonally over the net to land in the other player’s service box.
Receivers cannot return the serve until the ball bounces.
Balls that bounce in the service box and strike the wire mesh fence before crossing the service line are faulty.
A point will be let (played again) if the ball lands in the opponent’s service court after hitting the net.
INTERVALS & CHANGES
In the first and third games, players change ends.
When a tie-break takes place, the player’s switch ends every 6 points.
When players change ends, they are allowed a 90-second break.
When players change ends in a tie-break, they have 20 seconds to rest.
In between points, there can be no more than 20s.
After each set, players are allowed a two-minute break.
GAMEPLAY
Generally played as a doubles match (2 vs 2), teams must hit alternately.
Balls end rallies after having bounced twice, touched the fencing or hit you or your teammate.
It is in play if the ball hits any part of the court (including walls) following its landing on the opposing team’s side.
Although the ball can bounce off any of the walls, it can only touch the floor once before returning.
A player has one chance to return the ball to their opponent.
Volley hits (hits before the first bounce) are allowed. You can even smash the ball off the court as long as it bounces on your opponent’s side first.
